Another Week of Changes

This has been a great week. Jim is now walking nearly 2 miles in about 45 minuntes, which is a pretty good clip. Today when we go for our walk we're going try Nordic Walking, see how that works for him. He was also able to pick up Tidbit, our cat. This may not sound like much, but Bits weighs in at 16 lbs!

Jim had an appointment with Cardiac Risk Assessment on Thursday. His blood work came back really good with only a few points of concern. His Creatin (kidneys) is at 1.4. The doc wants it below 1.3. His LDLs are at 102, which is great for most of us. For post bypass, it needs to be under 100, so he's almost there. And his HDL needs to be at 40 or better. It's just below. His blood pressure seemed really low at 94/55. However, at this stage of the game, they'd rather have it be a litte low so as not to blow out the new bypasses. He is also borderline anemic, but that is the result of the surgery and will improve over time.

On Tuesday of next week he has another appointment up at the VA, which will last a couple of hours at least. Who knows what they'll be doing with him. He has another appointment on the 3rd of November, and that one will culminate with a visit with his thoracic surgeon. And between now and April he has 28 appointments at St. Mark's Hospital for Cardiac Rehab. Jim is still not able to drive, and not sure when he will be allowed. Sometime in November, probably.

This weekend is a boy weekend. Nolan is working all weekend so we won't see him till Sunday afternoon sometime. Nate is down in St George at band competition and may be back early early tomorrow morning. We may see him Sunday afternoon. Jason came over last night. Currently he and Jim are playing World of Warcraft. Jas has a halloween party tonight, so he'll be leaving us in a few hours. After I get this posted, I'm going to get showered and dressed, then grab the two gamers and go for a walk. Wonder how far we'll go today?

Here's a picture of Jim and Jason taken two months ago while we were on vacation in New Mexico. This is outside the place where we had lunch in Madrid, New Mexico. It was Jason's first time in a bar. He was somewhat traumatized by the event. Wanted a picture so he could show his mom where he'd been. Five minutes later, Jason had purchased a biker dew rag for his head, and wore it the rest of the trip!
